Need help with wipers

Ive got an 02 wj 4.7 with automatic wipers. On high and low they work fine but on auto they go halfway and stop and eventually comd back down. I got a used switch and wiper motor and its still the same. Anybody else run into this?
Any input is welcome..

Re: Need help with wipers

Normally when you put the wiper switch in automatic, the wipers do two swipes, independent of any rain (or dirt) in front of the sensor. If it doesnt do the two initial swipes, i would suspect the BCM. If it does the two initial swipes, i would suspect a problem with the rain sensor. Is the sensor properly attached to the windscreen?

Re: Need help with wipers

There is in fact no difference regarding the wipers returning to the stow position in man lo/hi or auto, its using the same limit switch in the wiper motor assy and the same driver in the BCM. Seems if the rain sensor does not give a continue signal for the wipe. Did you check the connector on the rain sensor? Maybe not properly inserted?
