New Oil Leak

I have a '99 WJ and noticed that I have an oil leak in the vicinity of the filter. It's not the filter, I checked that. Anyone know what is in that general area that might leak?
Thanks for any info.

Re: New Oil Leak

The engine is the 4.7 and I was thinking oil pressure switch but don't know where it is located and I don't have a manual for the car yet.
thanks.

Re: New Oil Leak

The oil pressure sending unit sits just above the oil filter. It has a three wire connector (two wire connector and a pressure switch on 04 model) on it. See attached page.

Re: New Oil Leak

Well I have my '99 WJ in the air and can't figure ot how the connector comes off the oil pressure switch. I can see a red tab on the side of the connector but it won't move in any direction. Anyone know how the connector comes off???

Re: New Oil Leak

sometimes they are just really difficult to move... some silicone spray may help some but its not uncommon for myself to have to use a screw driver or pick to move it.

Just to clarify that you understand how the connector works, that is just a safety to keep it latched, that goes left or right (to the side with the tab that sticks up) then there is a second tab at the back of the connector (away from the sensor) that you press in once the safety tab is moved over. You may already understand or know this, but I am just putting it out there.
