So, after replacing the very worn out rear upper control arm bushings and ball joint I still had a clunk from the rear end. So last night I put on a new power steering hose (new style is much better, no leaks!) and pulled off the rear tires to check the shock mounts. Thats when I noticed the rear caliper bracket bolts were LOOSE! Both were about 1/4 inch out. I was able to get the upper one tight, but the other bolt was slightly damaged, looks like it got cross threaded when we did brakes back in March. Cleaned it up and with a little locktite its good now, Im glad that didn't get any worse! Yay for now leaks or noises now!
Was it a clunk that kicked in straight away or was it after a 15 second period when you stopped?
One of the many noises from the back reacts like that for me..........
Ypahihi - Have you figured out what that noise was after stopping. I am having the same issue and was thinking it was a sticking caliper or my diff...any help would be awesome. Thanks
