no start 2000 WJ 4.7

Having problems with my 2000 4.7l just installed engine I got from a friend from his junk yard but the engine seems to have no spark or fuel noticed that the key light on the dash board stays on never happend before wondering if this is the problem changed sensors on it but still no spark checked to see if engine was a 32 tooth from a more modern jeep engine but is the same 00 engine, have any idea what this problem could be

Re: no start 2000 WJ 4.7

They key symbol light on the instrument cluster activated, indicates that the SKIM (Sentry Key Imobilizer Module) detected some fault. Try the spare key first to see if that will solve the problem. I heard some stories before that the SKIM could loose the key information and that only reprogramming would help. But as long as the SKIM is not accepting the key as valid, the light stays on and the engine won't start.

Re: no start 2000 WJ 4.7

Did you swap the PCM as well? If so, the SKIM secret key code has to be programmed into the PCM.
