np 242 front yoke seal leak

Hey guys

I recently did a NP242 swap into my V8 WJ and looks like the front output seal on the tcase is leaking. I wan to replace it. Is it easy?

On some diagrams it shows that all i need to do is disconect the front driveshaft, remove the yoke nut and the yoke and remove the seal with a pick of some sort.

On others it doesnt even show the nut. When i was putting the tcase in, i didnt notice a nut on the front yoke.

Has anyone done this? Am I on the right track? I really want to get this fixed as the leak isnt small, isnt big either.

Thanks guys

Re: np 242 front yoke seal leak

Yes, it should be as simple as you wrote it. Remove the prop shaft, remove the yoke and get the old seal out with a prybar.
