O/D issue...

..and I can't think off the top of my head what's causing it. The O/D button on my shifter has quit working, I rarely use it anyhow, but I prefer things to work. When it push it, it doesn't come out of O/D. What would cause this?

Re: O/D issue...

The O/D button on the 4.0 sends a signal to the PCM. It can be that the O/D switch has a problem, or the wiring from the switch to the PCM. Pin 3 on the shifter assy connector goes to the switch. I donīt see the internals of the shifter assy, but i believe that when you put one probe ( multimeter in ohm) on a ground point and the other on pin 3 that you can measure the switch operation. If that works ok, then you will have to measure the wire for continuity. So the shifter assy connector pin 3 to the PCM connector C3 pin 13.
