Overhead consul-US or metric question?

Hi,
Got myself a UK spec 2004 GC Overland. The overhead display can be selected for metric or Imperial (US) display. Now does the MPG figure work on the US gallon which I think is 7 pints against our UK gallon which is 8 pints ?
I cant imagine Jeep put in different calculations just for the UK market.

Thanks

That's a good question! Never thought of that before lol. Mind you I never check it anyway, it sucks, I get on with it.

I would think it's in UK measures given that they are built in Austria, but you never know

Re: Overhead consul-US or metric question?

It's a very good question and could possibly explain why the MPG reading on the overhead console is always high. If it's calculating MPG based off 8 pints per gallon and my hand calculations are based off 7 pints per gallon, the console would read higher than what I get.
