Overiding the security system

I have a 99 JGC 2wd and I notice that sometimes everything goes completely dead when turning the key and I cannot start the vehicle. If I let it sit 20 minutes I can drive off normally, does this sound like the security system acting up and is there a way to override it so I do not get stuck at an inopportune time?

Re: Overiding the security system

No, this doesn't sound as a problem of the alarm. It seems to be more battery related or battery connections/cables. I would check first the battery connections for being clean and well connected. There where some cases of corrosion of the battery cable just starting from the battery connectors. Difficult to see, due to the insulation. But if this all appears to be good, i would take the jeep to a shop and let the battery tested.
