P0601 code help

2001 GC limited 4.7.Had good long drive Saturday. Ran great, no problems. Parked it till Mon morning for work. Starts right up but dies .Even if I give it gas will only stay running while on the pedal. Did key dance the P0601 code only one. This means PCM toast? Disconnected battery several times did not clear code.
Is replacing PCM only fix? If I get unit from wreckers can I put in and just go or does it need a reflash?
I need this truck, going on 2 weeks holidays this Sat. Don't have time for this right now!!!!
What year and model range will work in my 01?
Thanks in advance for replies!!!

Re: P0601 code help

Sometimes a flash at the dealer can fix the problem, but most of the times the PCM is bad. When replacing the PCM, the VIN and miles need to be programmed into its memory. Also the SKIS secret code needs to be programmed when your jeep has the SKIS keys.
I would look for the PCM P/N which is in your jeep and look for the same one.
