P0750 trouble code

I was driving home when my check engine light came on. I noticed that when I would stop at a red light and start again the truck would have no power ( like it was in high gear) I checked the code it says P0750 shift solenoid A malfunction. I checked the code it said to replace solenoid if another code was present I think it was p 1767 not sure it did not tell me what to do if p 0750 was the only code present. Can anyone help???? what should I do???

Take it to your dealer... you can't do anything else.

That I couldn't tell you. But I would suspect it isn't anything you can remedy on your own.

Re: P0750 trouble code

From what I'm reading, the P0750 is for a bad solenoid pack. Your other code is possibly related to the governor pressure sensor.

You have to drop the transmission pan and remove the valve body to get at the solenoid pack. Supposed to be relatively simple to do if you want to try it. Roughly $250 for the parts.

Re: P0750 trouble code

Sometimes a bad electrical contact in the large connector on the left side of the transmission can give problems as you have. I would at least check this connector and use some electrical contact cleaner on the pins to be sure that the problem is not there.
But most of the times the TRS/solenoid block has to be changed. You can find them on e-bay or here: http://www.electricaladvantage.net/45rfe545rfe.aspx
If your jeep still has the black connector solenoid pack, you will also have to change the TRS cam plate to use the white connector solenoid pack.
Electrical advantage also sells both filters.
