Re: Passenger AC not blowing cold 04 Limited

Or the plastic collars are to weak, or the AC head unit does not switch the power off when it needs to.
Won't expect the actuators to be faulty, but who knows?

Re: Passenger AC not blowing cold 04 Limited

My guess is the plastic collars are weak with age. I agree with you that the actuators themselves are not faulty. I figured new actuators with nice new collars might solve the problem. If that's not it, then the only thing left that I can think of is the control unit, but by all other indications that is working as it should.

Re: Passenger AC not blowing cold 04 Limited

Update: I replaced the actuators and now the actuators stop when the door reaches full travel after approximately a 1 sec delay (seems like an unusual amount of force required to send the 'shutoff' signal to the control module). From reading other posts I am assuming this is normal.

After running the AZC auto calibration, I still get codes 54 and 56. When I clear them, everything seems normal (no codes) until I select Lo or Hi in order to test the extremes of door travel. Anytime I reach an extreme the system records a code for door travel too large.

I bought a control panel off ebay, but think it is incompatible. When I swapped it in, I still got door travel too large for the right (22), but the left door wasn't controlled at all (code 15). Suspect it is a control panel from 2002 or earlier. The date stamp was 12-16-05, part number P55116709AF so I thought it was an upgraded part, but I now think this is not the case.

The fact that I still got door travel too large with the replacement panel concerns me - perhaps it is not the control panel after all. I am at a loss. Not sure if I want to spend any more money on it, but I hate when something is not working properly.

Re: Passenger AC not blowing cold 04 Limited

So with the blend door actuators you also changed the plastic collars?
There is in fact nothing more in the system of the blend doors then the actuators and the AC control head. All the wiring and connectors are ok?
