Power first goes through the transfer case and gets split to the front and rear axles, (50/50 locked together in 4low, otherwise the progressive coupler splits power based on slippage in 4 high). Then the diff splits power to the wheels, the vari-lok in the quadradrive system is supposed to also detect slip and keep both wheels spinning the same speed. So at the very least in 4 low you should be spinning wheels front and rear.

Re: Quadadrive issues

Unfortunately to check the chain or any internal components you have to drop the tcase out of the vehicle and split the case apart.

Re: Quadadrive issues

You could check if there is too much slack on the chain by raising one front wheel, put T-case in 4Lo and rotate the wheel to both sides. If the chain is broken (if that is possible at least) you can turn the wheel without any stop. If the chain is too much stretched, you will hear some noise in the T-case from the chain skipping teeth.

Re: Quadadrive issues

Without opening the T-case it will be a wild guess to know what has happened. But first you need to be sure the problem is the T-case and not the diff.
The diff you could even more easily check by putting the T-case in N and try to turn the front propeller shaft by hand. If it rotates freely, then there is something wrong in the diff.
