I recently replaced the Actuator on the rear passenger door on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 X 4. The lock worked fine, re-installed the interior part of the door, checked again and it was working. Now the door will not open. I am not sure if the child lock is on or not. I tried to take off the inner panel from inside. However, I cannot open the door to take the screws out so that I can access the new actuator. Any suggestions on how to get this door open?? All of the other electronic locks are working fine.. Also, what is the most reasonable (price wise) to order parts ?
Please help !
This must be an adjusment problem. I presume that you have used the manual lock/unlock lever on the interior side of the door as well to test? The child lock should only work for the interior handle, not for the exterior handle.
When you are able to open the door, you will find here attached the adjustment procedure for the door latch.

This happened to me too, i was confused why it wasnt working when i used the power locks. but appearently if i remember correctly the driver lock, you need to manually move it from the unlock position to the lock position, and it should work. because all the locks should be in the same position. if one is not in the same position, the lock system doesnt work. i hope this helps.
