Rear window issues

Hi guys,

I have a timely situation that I hope to fix quickly due to the snow storms that will not smashing Massachusetts.

This is what I observed before my driver rear window got stuck in the down position. The driver's control switch for the driver's rear window would only work when the door was closed. If I opened the driver's door and tried to roll up the window, it would not work for the driver's rear window. After awhile, the driver's control switch for the driver's rear window stopped working. It still works for all the rest of the windows.

Today, I went to roll my window down for my dog and the driver's control switch did not work so I reached behind me and used the driver's rear switch to roll it down and it worked. Now, the driver's control and the driver's rear switch will not work and the window is stuck down. I plan to check the wiring, but what I don't understand is:

Why will the driver's rear switch not roll up the window if the motor worked to roll it down? Any help on what to look for is appreciated.

Re: Rear window issues

Have a look in the drivers door rubber boot, where all the wiring passes through from the body to the door. This spot is well known for wires to break after flexing many times. You could first try a battery disconnect for some minutes, because the BCM (body control module) can freeze up sometimes, eventhough i do not believe it be the problem here. How are the door locks, still working?

Re: Rear window issues

I took the boot off and the blue wire is broken. Thank you.
