Re: Rumble strip noise in front end
Is your Overland front shaft a Type 2 with a u joint at the front and a double cardan joint at the back. Mine is a 2004 and that is what I have. The thread I started concerns a noise more so than a vibration, but I am going to take my shaft out soon and take a closer look at the u joints there. A really bad joint can produce a vibration. Not sure about only getting it at a certain speed. With your shaft out and you not having the vibration, you'd think the problem would be in the shaft, but like my issue, without having the strain within the drive train, your problem could still be within the front axle or hubs or maybe the CV joints just behind the hubs.
This is the kind of stuff that can drive ya nuts, but with help here maybe someone has had the same thing or things and they will chime in and help.
