Rusty slim in steering knuckle.

Hi all
Don't now if this normal or cause for concern.Pulled driver side hub to replace.Inside steering knuckle all dry with rust colored slim.
Normal?clean it degrease?

Is the rust coming from the steering knuckle? The upper knuckle is greasable and should be greased once in a while (donīt know why the lower doesnīt have this possibility). A dry knuckle (no grease) will rust inside and wear prematurely.

Pulled bearing hub off .the c v -axle inside steering knuckle housing.Bought in Nov.Working through things now.Didnt look for or notice any grease fittings.

I think i made a mistake with the names, i ment to say the ball joints. Upper one is greasable, lower not. If the rust is from the knuckle itself, i would just remove it as far as possible and put some protective coat on it.
