Re: Smoke coming inside the cabin??

So if its a failed valve stem seal, then there should be smoke coming from the exhaust pipe as well, isn´t it? Even if some oil would pass by a leaking exhaust manifold gasket, also a part would stay inside the exhaust pipe.

Re: Smoke coming inside the cabin??

This vehicle I worked on had a decent puff on initial start up and billowed smoke on the first acceleration (following the "external leak repair") . I didnt really note any abnormal smoke the first time I drove it prior to repairs though.

you should be able to get an engine oil dye kit at any auto parts store it will come with a cheap black light, yellow glasses and some dye. Ultimately if you see it coming from the exhaust port its an unnecessary step as unless you remove the manifold it wont really show you anything you didnt already know.

Re: Smoke coming inside the cabin??

Took the truck to the dealer and they are gonna do a oil dye kit, but my rear main seal is leaking, power steering is leaking bad, and my oil pan is leaking. i will keep you guys updated with the dealers estimate.
