Spark plug wires

I tried to do a search but cannot find a good answer for this one. Spark plug wires (4.7)- which are best. A performance bump would be nice if possible to be had. In one post, I read not to worry about changing them? Don't know if it was because of mileage or what, but I can't see these things lasting forever. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Spark plug wires

Thanks for the reply Scott. I should have known that, just didn't. Since my post, I have read a couple places not to change them out unless their is an issue. Do you believe this to be true. I have 131k on my WJ and am just looking to do what is right. If I should replace, do I go with the OEM part or are there alternatives that might give me a performance advantage? Also, what about the wires going from the pack to the plug itself? Does it come as an assembly or purchased sep.? Hate to beat it to death, just looking for the best info.

Re: Spark plug wires

I would pull one plug and have a look see. Stick with the oem or equivelants...there is no performance gain on these engines with diffirent plugs. The coil packs are just that...the coil packs with a harness running to them.
