Start/Electrical problem 2,7 crd

Hi

Have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD that would not start / no reaction when the ignition key is turned and has zero impact on the lights and instruments that are all dead no - reaction. All fuses checked OK battery has standby voltage of 12.6 volts. The car ran fine when it was parked for 3 days ago. Suspect that previous engine wash possibly may have had an influence or perhaps the ignition key. Any good suggestions for a solution would be appreciated

Re: Start/Electrical problem 2,7 crd

The problem could be the ignition switch, a battery cable or a bad ground.
To check that the battery cable and/or ground are ok, use a system which is not switched by the ignition switch, such as the power seats. If they work ok, then the main ground and battery feed cable seem to be ok. In that case most probably the ignition switch is faulty or even a main fuse blown. Check in the power distribution center under the hood if the fuses are ok (fuses 14 and 15).
