Hi All,
just under a year ago I had this problem, the EVIC would drop out "----" instead of figures, windows wouldn't open, no light flash on lock, no auto courtesy lights etc. etc.
Had loads of advice about self checking the EVIC, BCM, ECM even TCM but it turned out to be none of those. Discovered, by accident, a fractured water temperature sensor. Replaced that and all has been O.K. until the last couple of weeks, when I had all the old symptoms again.
Thought, I know what that is, bought (£8.50=$13) and fitted a replacement sensor. No such luck. Guessed it must be down to the AZC system somehow, as just before it happened the Aircon would kick in at inappropriate times.
Ran the self-check on the AZC, came up with fault codes 12, 22,29, 30 32, 52 & 56, most of which are down to blend doors. Replaced the blend doors with a JGC kit (I see Jeep have copied his design, but Chrysler UK only sell it in the housing. Robbing b******s!).
Did all the resets and recalibration procedures. A.O.K. Zero errors, fault code "0", on self-check. Drove round a bit and after a few miles, out drops the EVIC etc. etc. Self check on AZC then gives "20" error, which is listed as "AI (Recirc) door travel too large".
Question is, where is the "AI" door? Is it something I could 'fix' myself?
Please don't suggest I go to the local Jeep garage, they couldn't find their arses when standing naked in a well lit room!
Thanks in advance.
