Re: Throttle stuck open help

I need a new tightening thing, so I haven't got the chance to rig it, and I'll be going on vacation starting this sunday and I'll be back next week, I washed it today though

Re: Throttle stuck open help

I looked on my WJ parts CD and it doesn't show the seal between the resinator and the throttle body. I was hoping to get you a Jeep part number.
Sorry.

Re: Throttle stuck open help

Ok so I finally put the rubber bands on since part of the seal tore off and cloged up the throttle body, so now my brakes aren't squeeky anymore and they're also shinny now hehe.

I'm kinda afraid that if I floor it the size 64 rubber bands might get past the throttle body this time since they're alot smaller than the normal seal.

I tightned it up as much as possible and I don't think that it's going to stop a brave one to go straight through the throttle flappy thingy.

Ahhh! I'm a wreck.

Re: Throttle stuck open help

Now that i think of it, the TB on your Wj should be the same size as a TB on an XJ 4.0. I would go to a bone yard and grab the air tube that connects the TB to the air box from an XJ and get rid of the air box muffler thing. That or buy a CAI.

Re: Throttle stuck open help

Oh yeah when I got to my friends house, since I had used my emergency brake to keep it under control my rear brakes were smoking more than the fronts (I'd never seen that before hehe)

Yeah I think that I'll try some scrap yards tomorrow, I had an idea like that.

Re: Throttle stuck open help

Oh nothing, it's just that since I reached 55mph I think the emergency brake may have gotten a little hot is all.
