Hi guys. I've read a lot of threads and totally confused myself. I want to drain my torque converter by removing an oil cooler line. My question is ...which metal line on the tranny oil cooler is the line coming from the transmission and which is the line going to the transmission.
Also I've tried to remove the rubber hose from one of the cooler lines and I can't budge it. Any tips or tricks. I have a 2004 WJ 4.7. Thanks for all your help!

Don't know for sure but my guess would be the one going to the top of the radiator would be the fluid coming from the trans and the line on the bottom would be the return. That would be logical but you are dealing with Chrysler:lol: Just pull both at the rad and remember which one goes where.

You will not be able to drain the torque converter, you could only remove one of the lines and flush it with the engine running. You will not 100% change all fluid, or you should use a lot of it, because the fresh fluid will mix with the old fluid in the converter.
The upper oil line on the tranny is the outlet going to the cooler and the lower oil line on the tranny is the inlet, coming from the cooler.
To remove the short hose between the 2 rigid lines, you best stick a thin screwdriver or alike in between the hose and the tube and work it around. Then you just pull it of.

No worry, this is all part of the fun. And to be true, by doing this, i´m a little bit selfish, because i allways learn myself as well :D.
And he, we also started without knowing anything about the jeep, thats no shame. We just learn during the process.
