I havent even seen my new/old jeep yet, but want to find out as much as i can about this tran's clunk from 3rd to overdrive so i can fix it asap. Has anybody had this problem.... i know the fluid is burnt and am wondering if a service will fix it. Iv been told it's got something to do with the clutch cog going to fast or to slow (never herd of one before so iv got no idea if thats even a real part). Either way if the tran's is stuffed ill just upgrade. Thank's
no...its basically the same tranny as whats in the current wk's with the 4.7 and 5.7...minus 1 gear. Ya know...some of the durango guys are swapping in tcm's from the newer wj grands and making them a 545rfe. I wonder if the jeep guys with the 45rfe...can do the same? The only difference between the two trannies is the tcm's.....
have you had a chance to check out our partner site? www.wjjeeps.com tons of info on the wj. it could point out the wj's tcm for ya. I would post a thread in the wj forum here to about your problem.
Nope...but that was the site i was looking for when i found this one. i like what i saw here, i decided to stay and check it out. thank's for the offer but ill go check it out, that way ill have to site's to bounce between.
OK, i cant find anything to say it's a common problem, so i guess that's a good thing. Ill just have to wait for it to turn up, do the service and see what happen's thank's.
Most probably the fluid and filters change will solve your problem. Maybe a good idea to put it on a DRB scanner before opening to check for faults codes, just to prevent opening it again. You can then also realtime see the pump linepressure and other inputs, which could show any anomally.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
