Hi my 2001 3.1 ltr diesel will not change from first gear until approx 4000 rpm. After that changes appear normal but once you slow down the problem reoccurs on acceleration. Did code check and got P1762. Anyone shed light on this prob?
Don't know which tranny you have on your Jeep, but the sensor will probably look as here attached. After some surfing on the net i also found several recommendations to change the governor solenoid at the same time, to prevent opening of the tranny soon again. No idea how much this solenoid will cost and if it will be costs effective to change it now.
Also the problem could be caused by an open or shorted wire to the governor pressure sensor. So its a good idea to check the wiring before changing any part.
I was just reading about this on a different forum, Had something to do with the speed sensor. Not sure if that's the same as the Governor sensor........
