Trouble Codes

My 99 Jeep 4.7 Grand Cherokee is showing codes - P0420 and P1195. These are defined as "cataylst sys. efficiency below threshold bank 1" and "oxygen sensor heater circuit is bad".
Anone have advice or info on correcting these issues?

Re: Trouble Codes

OBD2-OBDII Engine Light Trouble Code P0420 JEEP - Catalyst System Efficiency Bank 1 | Engine-Codes.com Seems like the catalytic converter is the culprit for the P0420 code. However, there are simpler things that could be causing it, such as a vacuum leak.

P1195 is related to the oxygen sensor.

How many miles does your Jeep have? Has the converter ever been replaced? Oxygen sensors ever been replaced?

Re: Trouble Codes

I found a different meaning for the last code: P1195 O2 Sensor 1/1 (Bank 1, Sensor 1) Slow During Catalyst Monitor .
This to me looks as a bad bank 1 upstream O2 sensor. It could make the fuel mixture lean and cause the loss in power.
Because the PCM looks at the sensors 1 and 2 for the monitoring of the cat, a bad number 1 sensor could make it think that the cat performance is bad.
