Vacumn Leak Code and the vent position knob

I have a medium vacumn leak (P0442) code being displayed. The fan switch works, the temperature contol works, but what does not work is the selector that decides which vent the air should blow out of. It is stuck on the defrost and floor selection. Does anyone know if the vent selector is vacumn operated? I think the two are related, but I cannot find anything definite in my short time of searching.

Thanks!!

Re: Vacumn Leak Code and the vent position knob

The vacum leak is the gas system. 99.9% of the time your gas cap is not tight enough make it click 3 or 4 times clear the code and it sould not come back. But your a/c problem I cant help you with.

Also check your vacum hoses under the hood. Mine were cracked and throwing the same code.
