Re: Water pump leakage

Hi Dave, i'm afraid that i can't wait for a pump from the US, that will take at least a month to arrive. There are some pumps available overhere, have only no idea yet which brand they have. Hope to hear more tomorrow.

Re: Water pump leakage

Donīt think so, its really the hydraulic fan bearing making a slight noise. Have no time at the moment, otherwise i would take the fan motor of to see if i could lubricate the bearing in any way.

Re: Water pump leakage

AC Delco is a good brand. been making GM parts forever...don't know when they started with cryco. attached is a water pump list from rockauto USA (scroll down to page3)
or try Quadratec.com call their 800 # it's free and ask how long it would take to ship, probably not 2 weeks near any major airport use UPS or Fedex looks like you will save 200 USD less shipping/brazil customs... maybe 3 to 4 days with air freight ( I hope I looked up the correct jeep i put 2002 4.7 FI GC Ltd.)

Re: Water pump leakage

Thanks for the tip Bob. Eventhough the shipping costs are higher then the actual parts, its probably cheaper then via the local imports guy. I will have a look today when time allows.

Re: Water pump leakage

Just ordered the water pump and thermostat (old thermostat is still ok, but now that the system will be open, good to change it too) via Rockauto. The prices seem to be ok and they ship worldwide. lets see how long it will take to arrive. Thanks again for the tip Bob.

Re: Water pump leakage

Did you call and speak with them ? my experience has always been good with shipping usually get my orders within a week. It will mostly depend on how long your customs takes to release it I think.i'm interested to learn the outcome keep us posted, Bob.
Ps. Don't forget to flush it out before you start...(should be a couple of 1/2" pipe plugged drains on the lower block just above the pan)

Re: Water pump leakage

Short update on the waterpump shipment. Placed my order with Rockauto on the 30th of December, order was handled on the 31th and shipped on the 1st. Parts arrived Brazil on the 5th and released from customs on the 6th and yesterday they tried to deliver, unfortunately i was not at home...................
Strange that they didnīt call me before delivery, but still a very rapid service though, especially seeing the holiday season (even the Brazilian customs seems to be working).
Hope they will come back to me today.

Re: Water pump leakage

I didn't think it would take 2 weeks and you got it in a week and over the holiday as well... how was the duty/taxes save any cash? don't forget to flush before you start. ps. I noticed a rattling sound coming from the water pump area on my ZJ...I'm hoping it was a cat stuck in the belt...

Re: Water pump leakage

Didnīt receive it yet Bob, iīm eagerly awaiting for the guys to deliver it. Regarding the duty/taxes, there should be no differences with buying with the local imports guys, 60 % on top of parts and shipping costs.
