Re: Water pump leakage

Do you mean the duty and tax is 60%? wow...you should have got a notice to reschedule delivery or hold for pick up if more convenient.

Re: Water pump leakage

Yeeeessssss, the parts arrived. The postman just brought it to me and............no duty nor taxes to pay. This was a very good deal, because buying it locally would have cost me around 400 Reais more ( approx 235 USD).
The only thing............ both parts are made in.................China. The AcDelco pump and the Stant thermostat. Not sure who produces the Mopar pump, but lets see how it will last.
Thanks again Bob for the splendid tip.

Re: Water pump leakage

just about all automakers outsource parts....wouldn't surprise me to find the mopar pump was made in the same china plant as the AC Delco pump...your new pump will be fine.
maybe now my rep will go up...

Re: Water pump leakage

So yesterday changed my waterpump and thermostat. Quite straightforward job. Only to get the waterpump out from there, i also removed the generator, as mentioned before by an other JG member. I tried to turn it in all positions to get it out with the generator in place, but no way.
The Stant thermostat came with a seal approx. 2 mm thicker then the original one and the thermostat housing deformed while fastening. Removed it again and installed the old seal.
Now ready to run 100K Km again.
