Re: window and lock controls dont work while drivers door is open

It is going to be a breaking/broken wire in the door jamb harness. the power and ground wires are larger gauge wire (i dunno 12 or 14 gauge) and they seem to be the ones that cannot take the years of opening and closing.

Personally when I repair these at work I use a wire from the blower motor resistor connector repair kit (same terminal) and run the new wire from the terminal to inside the cabin so all wire splices are NOT in the door jamb. It sounds like a big job or a difficult job and if you have no experience pulling terminals out of connectors or working connectors out of the retainers into the body there is a couple difficult steps, all in all it is a quick job once you have done it once and it will last another 10 years

Yep, what 2005JGC said.
But.....................why would you use your locks and windows with the door open anyway????

Re: window and lock controls dont work while drivers door is open

I have seen wires in the rear doors do the same thing... MUCH less common as they are opened alot less but I have seen it none the less. Look at the door jamb wiring in that door too.

Re: window and lock controls dont work while drivers door is open

Wire colors going from the drivers door module to the rear door switch module are Red/White (down) and Dark Blue (up).
