WJ 4.0 Vacuum Leak

I've got a vacuum leak on my '99 WJ 4.0. I know where the leak is. It is one of the hose bibs coming off the driver side of the intake manifold. It had a solid cap over it. The problem is when I put the cap back on it the engine dies. If I leave it off, it will idle fine. If I take off the cruise control vacuum line off and have the other spot open, it will idle at 1,000 RPM.

Anyone got any idea?

Re: WJ 4.0 Vacuum Leak

Its normal that the engine dies when you put the cap on, because the idle air control stepper motor is probably completely closed (due to the leak) and doesn't open that quickly. Did you try to start it again after it died with the cap on?
