WJ front driveshaft

Hey guys, I've got a 2000 Grand cherokee 4.7L.
I'm having problems with the front driveshaft, it has cv joints on both ends and the side that connects to the transfer case keeps breaking. I'm not quite sure what's causing it to break but I'm on my second cv joint. It always breaks while on the highway doing 70mph+. Any input will help, thanks!

Re: WJ front driveshaft

Welcome to the garage.
Is your jeep lifted? If so, the increased angle will put more load on the CV joint.
Does the joint really break, or does it start make noises due to wear?

No lift on the jeep. This last part lasted for less than two months and I packed it with grease too.

Re: WJ front driveshaft

But what happens to the joints, does it start making noises due wear?
Is your jeep quadra drive? I imagine that something is wrong inside the T-case, which creates lots of stress on the whole driveline and breaks the weakest part. Is the T-case filled with the special Mopar fluid (Mobil 424)?
If for example the progressive coupler in the T-case internally jams, then there will be a fixed speed to both front and rear prop shafts. If there is even a little bit of difference in wear between the front and the rear tires, then it would cause a lot of strain in the driveline.
It can be something else ofcourse, but breaking the joint twice, points to abnormal strain in the driveline.

Re: WJ front driveshaft

Yea it's just making a lot of noise from something breaking then just wearing down. I took it to a dealership and they checked and said the tcase was fine and everything is working but I can check the fluid level.
