WJ Seat Bracket

The connecting points on the scissor assembly of my drivers seat broke a while back and it's been killin' me. I got tired of joking about the lean so I ordered a new one from Jeepseatbracket.com.

The box came in the other day and the bracket looks diesel! They use 9 gauge steel instead of the stock 11 gauge. I should be replacing both the driver's and passenger's in the next few days. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Has anybody installed these themselves?

Re: WJ Seat Bracket

Sorry i forgot to post back up. I pulled the seat and found that it was the seat's subframe that was broken. Thing was absolute toast. I've since ordered a new one and been loving not falling out of the seat on left turns.

NOTE: If you think your rear scissor bracket is broken, check the welds on your seat frame before buying parts

Re: WJ Seat Bracket

It's good to know there is a parts fix for this now. I have heard of a TON of people that have the same broken seat problem. I always just tell them to weld it back together.

Re: WJ Seat Bracket

Ya its definitely better that the thicker steel replacement is out there now. Apparently welding it back together usually resulted in just another break down the road.

Re: WJ Seat Bracket

I e-mailed jeepseatbrackets.com but didn't get an answer. Does the bracket only work for power seats or can it be used for a manual seat as well?
