Re: Damn Jeep (Dave's pitiful suspension upgrade thread)

Well there seems to be an issue with my SS brake lines .Looks like they changed something on the calipers AGAIN after the build date of 4/27 03. I'll post whatever I find and the solution(hopefully) in the Classic Tube thread I started so you poor fools don't have to stress out if you decide to do this like me

Re: Damn Jeep (Dave's pitiful suspension upgrade thread)

I'm having a few fitment issues with my front brake lines so I'm moving to the rear for now. I removed the shocks, end links and sway bar.

I also soaked down all of my rear brake fittings and removed the lines.

This pic is a little strange. The big hose running from the top of the brake line junction block is the diff vent. The hose fitting feeds through the block and threads into the axle tube holding the block in place.

This biatch still broke.

New stainless lines!

Here's a pic of that stupid lower rear shock bolt. What RETARD came up with this thing? No wonder these things are always clunking. The shoulder only reaches halfway through the shock bushing! Throw these away and get new full length shouldered bolts like Tony says or he will kill you.I am.I'm afraid of him. He's nuts.

HAHAHHAHAHHA....I will do exactly that...as a matter of fact, if you don't replace those bolts, I will remove them and stab you with them in the neck...then call you Frankentard.

Boop-boodoopboodoop-doop...breaking news: "The Frankestien murderer strikes again...police are baffled and can't figure out why the murder is targeting owners of older model Grand Cherokees. According to crime scene investigators, the attacker is removing the rear shock bolts from the victim's Jeeps and jamming them in their necks, then replacing the Jeeps bolts with quality ones. He's also removing all amber lenses from the Jeeps as he goes along...by far the strangest MO we've ever seen"

YIKES! I'm glad you live a couple states away, that gives me time to replace the bolts and de-amber before you get here!

Re: Damn Jeep (Dave's pitiful suspension upgrade thread)

We got more Green stuff! Toxic green bumps and spring spacers are in. WJs even give you a hole you can run a self tapper in to hold them on.

There's my new Addco that I installed twice and my new Zone extended links. New bottom bolts come with them.

Now that I'm over 3" of lift the rear diff vent hose was too short and pulling off the fitting at full droop. The hose ran through a hole in a brace by the gas tank. I rerouted it under this brace.

Before

After

I noticed when mocking all this stuff up there are actually 3 of those weird bolts on each side that need replaced. I tried searching for an hour for Tony's post on what size they are but I couldn't find it. Screw it take 1 with you, dummies. Maybe Tony can chime in when he gets a chance. Notice my 3rd grade artwork but i did go through a lot of trouble to try to match my bumpstop color for continuity's sake Change these bolts when you do shocks or links it will save you a lot of grief later.

I guess the rear Bilsteins go upside down from what I'm seeing. That's the way they fit best and the way the stickers and actual engraved numbers are oriented. What happened to the days where there were actually good instructions with things? Got to hand it to Zone Offroad here. Out of all the stuff I've added in this thread they have real instructions with pictures. I really am starting to like this company. They actually talked me out of buying a product on the phone they felt I didn't need. I guess I'll call Bilstein to make sure. If for no other reason than I really like talking to Indonesian telemarketers

Here's everything loosely together. Gotta get my bolts though.

Did you add a washer to it?

Blame it on green, its a slow color!

Anyway, looking good Dave! I wish I had another car, then I wouldn't have to make sure my projects only take the time I allot for them, which of course is never enough lol. You gonna finally get her going after this or do you have a few more mods up your sleeve yet?
