Dana 44 axle

I have a grand cherokee limited 2.7 diesel 2003/4 facelift model fitted with a dana 44 rear axle, does anyone know what end float is allowable on the drive shafts, I fitted new bearings and seals (the old seals were worn out) pre strip down there was a little (tiny bit of end float) the newly fitted bearings also have this end float, I assumed that this was normal, but no where in my manual is any information about this

Re: Dana 44 axle

Welcome to the garage.
With end float, do you mean axial play or radial play? The jeep service manual doesn´t mention any limits as well, but i would expect a new bearing to have no feelable play on it.
