I want to add fog lights to my 02 Laredo...I want to install the oem setup, assuming I can get the lights from a donor vehicle where was the switch for them when factory equipped ? I read on WK's and newer they were on the multi function stalk was it the same on WJ's ? Also on the newer they apparently require an activation in the bcm, will that be necessary on the pci system of the WJ ?
Yes, the rear fog lights are switched via the left multi function switch. You pull the switch out for the front fogs and turn it to add the rear fogs. Not sure about the activation on the BCM though. The wiring shows a relay on the junction block, which is switched by the BCM.
Thanks for the info...I was just thinking about front fogs but since the stalk does both maybe I will too ...or just go aftermarket and mount a separate switch
You can search around sites for either after market or stalk. I've come across some that are oem but with an upgraded lens face that's clearer and lasts longer without becoming cloudy.
I'm trying to find the center stack from a WJ that had heated seats and a cubby (not an ashtray) I will then repurpose the heater switches to be the switch for the fogs, and have the other one for some other as yet determined accessory (maybe an inverter for charging my drill batteries) for what I would shell out on a stalk and oem fogs I am almost to a set of PIAA's
