Front CV Gaitor Replacement

Hi All,
Unfortunately I had an MOT fail on this yesterday.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good guide on how to replace it?
Cheers All.
Paul.

Re: Front CV Gaitor Replacement

Hi Frank,
It's the rubber 'boot' - we call them gaitor or boot over here sorry!!!
The one that has failed was the LH front behind the wheel hub.
Cheers
Paul.

Re: Front CV Gaitor Replacement

Many times all grease has gone out of the joint and/or dirt has gone in, destroing the CV joint. Ofcourse you can decide to change the boot if the joint is still in a good shape. You will have to remove the hub bearing assy and then the axle tube will slide out and you can change the boot. Take care not to damage the internal diff seals, otherwise you will get diff fluid leakage.
