Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

i used PlastiDip on my wheels and trim. go to www.dipyourcar.com. it has all the product, and tells you how to do it step by step.. it's like the plastidip for cars headquarters.

Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

Doing this tomorrow and I don't really have any experience in this kind of thing; any tips/suggestions before I screw up my wheels? I bought 2 cans, painters tape, plastic painters drop, and sandpaper.

I do have some scuffs that I think need to be sanded and I bought medium sheets (100 grain I think?) How do I go about/how much do I sand them? I want to make sure they would still look fine if I decided to get rid of the plasti dip.

I am doing this with the wheels on, since I don't have the time/patience or jack stands to do them otherwise.

Read this...learn from my mistakes.

The official I suck at plasti-dipping club thread

the important things i can tell you are ...

1)clean and decrease the surface
2)first 2 coats should go lightly
3)spray evenly, don't move hand back and forth allot
4)remove the tape when wet

Good Luck

Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

Just got done and I think it went really well!

I did get a bit of overspray but it'll peel off. I also got a black shorty antenna this week so I did the chrome base as well to match it.

Now I just need to get a car wash..
