Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

I had my plastidipped black and they looked great. But when you go to get new tires, they're going to get messed up and have to be peeled off and re-painted.

The 1st can wasn't completely full and I only used about a 1/3 of the last can. I also sprayed a wheel then didn't like it, so peeled it and redid it.

Especially when they move the weights. I just cut the edge of the section that was messed up and sprayed on-top of it. Came out looking good and you can't tell unless your up-close, like within a couple feet and are looking at the right spot. Plus it took my less then 5 min to do all 4 wheels again.

Seriously looks so much better! Nicely done! What did you end up doing with the nuts? Are you going to leave them silver or get black ones?

Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

I've been debating going with the black lugs but I sort of like the contrast of silver lugs and black rims.

Re: How to Plasti Dip your wheels

Just did my JK rims on my WJ. I think it came out great! Thought about doing the lugs, but how would you tighten them without scratching/damaging the paint on the lugs? I like the chrome/ black contrast on mine. (Also painted the calipers red)
