Unlocking Passenger door - Actuator dead

Hi all. I cannot open my passenger door, it is in lock position.. the actuator seems to be dead. How do I get the door unlocked so I can get the panel off and actuator replaced?? Thx ; )

Re: Unlocking Passenger door - Actuator dead

Nope.. no way of getting the door unlocked. I got part of the inside of the door cover open enough to get my hand on the actuator but there was nothing in there that I could get to unlock the door.

You mean to tell me that the manual unlock doesn't work nor does inserting the key in the lock and turning it ?

There's no key access on that passenger door unfortunately. No manual way of opening it. Argh

Unlock all the doors and then try to manually unlock it from the inside.

So this is the front passenger door? A picture of the inside handle and outside handle would be helpful ...

Re: Unlocking Passenger door - Actuator dead

The power lock motor and latch are one unit. I donīt know how you can unlatch it when the motor is stuck. Can you get your hands on the manual lock/unlock pushrod inside the door, to see if you can move it?

Re: Unlocking Passenger door - Actuator dead

There is not much more then you can do then trying to mess a bit with the rods. The manual rod should not open the door, it should only remove the lock. You then still have to use the door handle to open it, so you probably need an extra hand.
