Re: Official feedback thread for AIRAID Filter company!
After having installed my new Airaid JR Kit, I would like to offer some feedback. First, off, admittedly I made a mistake and ordered the filter and the intake tube separately, where I could have saved some money on buying the kit. That's ok, I was mostly concerned on getting it! However, I ordered the filter over a week ago and the intake only a few days ago. The intake tube arrived promptly, but after some investigation and communication with the outlet retailer, it appears Airaid did not complete my order and my filter was left unshipped. I still do not have the filter and Airaid did not offer to overnight or expedite the air filter order with urgency. In terms of install, I had difficulty fitting the Air Intake Temperature Sensor into the grommet on the intake. After several attempts trying to guide the sensor into the grommet, I started thinking that this install may not have been such a good idea after all. The grommet reluctantly gave way for the sensor, but it seems the sensor is not all that secure. A better fit would be appreciated, perhaps even an OEM fitting so that it is entirely plug'n'play. I guess it will be necessary to check the sensor for contact in hopes it will not detach and draw in unfiltered air. Towards the end of the install, I was attempting to tighten down the hose clamps, only to realize that one of the clamps supplied by Airaid was faulty. I guess quality check of parts is not on Airaid's top ten list of priorities. Very disappointing to have to go buy a ~$3 clamp in the middle of the install. Overall, I am not very impressed by the product in terms of build quality or ease of installation. I would like to see Airaid address these issues in order to make their product recommendable and satisfactory. I rate this product and Airaid's customer service a total of 2 out of 5 stars.
