Ride was smooth and quiet.

In the end, I liked the size/features of the Overland better (off-roading was never a consideration). Of course, after being on this forum for a year, beach-running is beginning to sound fun....

Good luck with your new vehicle. If it matches your needs, you should enjoy it.
I got the pano roof in the new explorer. Everything fits in my jeep now and the Explorer is 10 cubit feet bigger in the cargo area with the 3rd row down. Actual seating room is the same as the Jeep, my kids fit about the same with the Jeep having a little bit more legroom for the 2nd row.

I can take the ribbing, I actually enjoy it.

Moose, someone has to bust hte v6 owners balls. I will keep my account active and be back to bust on the diesel guys once they are around also Have to keep the Hemi at the top!

check the features. You may prefer the Jeep but feature for feature, the Ford is right there. I got heated and cooled seats, navigation, pano roof, remote start that turns on the seats and defroster, etc... I did not opt for the adaptive cruise but it is offered.

I really doubt any make is light years ahead of another one. Personal preference is the difference maker. besides a Kia or Hyundai, they all suck

The one option that is hard to find is the heated steering wheel.... It is my favorite option on my jeep.

Explorer Sport, 402A, moon roof, tow package

Paid nowhere close to that, they were willing to deal about as much as when I bought my Jeep a few years ago.

they don't. Twin turbos make up for the lost cylinders though.

Would rather have a twin turbo v8 but...

It upsets me though that barho thinks my durango is a POS compared to a FWD exploder. I dont care...I got that POS bitch Durango for FREE! LOL

I just think OVERALL it isn't a very good vehicle. Certainly I wouldn't turn down the R/T if I won it I almost bought the R/T when they first came out, but the wife insisted on a minivan Glad though, as I can beat on the newly paid off 08 Laredo and either get the refreshed GC in a year or two, or get the redesign when it comes out in 16/17. I am past the stage of wanting the Ex Sport, Scott.

Re: Bought a new vehicle over the weekend

What is the difference between the "new" Explorer and a minivan?

-V6/4cyl
-Seats 7
-AWD with front wheel drive bias (this is the big one)
-No 4lo
-Tows less than 5000lbs
-limited ground clearance

If you told me those criteria I would assume it was a van you were purchasing not an SUV. I'm sure its a nice vehicle but I don't see a van in ford's line up and the new explorer seems to have filled that roll. As someone who has purchased a new Explorer could you enlighten me? Can we just call it a fast van?

Aren't you the same sucker that bought a 2012 2wd GC and traded it in for a 2011?..................along with 3 or 4 other vehicles in the last year?

Re: Bought a new vehicle over the weekend

Congrats on the new ride. Good to hear about the trade in # on your 2011 X. Mine is a 2012 with 15k miles. Will most likely trade it off in the summer or fall on a '14. Good like with the Explorer. Thanks for buying American again.

People could of said many of the same things about the GCSRT when it first came out in 06. I bought it cause it was a fast vehicle that could haul kids and other goodies (once dusted a Mustang GT with my two stage snowblower sticking out the hatch). This is probably why the new EXx Sport appeals to a lot of folks. You can fit MORE kids/equipment and it is the fastest 7 passenger out there I believe.
