Really just anything that would be helpful for future reference And did you buy chance sell your programmer for it and did it help with mpgs

Re: Brilliant Black Beastie - '09 SRT8 Chally

I still have the DS. honestly I don't recall exactly mpg differences from just the programmer, but it sure is more fun to drive with it those tires are pretty short, had I kept it I would have put taller ones on it( I travel quite a bit) on the highway that did take away 1 or 2 mpg's but the gain in handling over the other set up , in my opinion ,was a good trade off.

I think pretty much anything you need to know about it( i.cluding proper belt size ) is in the build thread. ( there's a link in that post above and also in my sig )
I've been keeping my eye out for it ,are you in Wichita ? I'm down there just about every other night.

Cool ya I thank I'd like taller tires to. Would you want to get rid of the programmer? Do you still have the stock wheels that came on it? And no I don't live in wichita just out side by Augusta. You take your new car out to the track yet

Re: Brilliant Black Beastie - '09 SRT8 Chally

that all depends on what you want from it

from the dealer- go east to the light and turn south. in about 1 1/2 miles there's a street going east that had a construction sign up when I was test driving the car(no idea of the name). after you get past the trees its an awesome windy road. I took the chally through there @ about 75mph on the way in and about 115 on the way out (hey the sales person had only been scared once on a test drive before,it was a challenge that I won ) Now, the jeep wouldn't like the 115 trip, but it could sure handle it @ 75 or so....if that's to your liking keep them shorter, if you are gonna be on the hwy a lot, some taller tires will be more comfy and help with mpg's - IMHO

Sure,I've got all kinds of stuff that I cant use from it yet:
predator
stock wheels with tires
stock engine cover
stock rear springs
trans line press. booster

might be more- that's off the top of my head

No, I haven't been to the track in a while I don't really wanna take it until I get a "hop-not" kit for it. when I get on it too hard the wheel hop is ferocious!
So far my best 0-60 (only hit it once) is 5.14 and that was with warm tires, still spinning for a good 10-15 feet. the auto guys seem to be down in the 4.6 - 4.8 range consistently. when I do go, I'd like to be quick

Re: Brilliant Black Beastie - '09 SRT8 Chally

Time for an update: since may I've put over 10k miles on her most of them have been a lot of fun

I haven't had a chance to do too much to her yet, but the plasti dip did come out

before:too much red!

After: mucho betta!

At nite:

On my way home from my last trip some guy in a 90's caprice ( maybe it was an impala ss-it was dark) wanted to try me. It was the middle of the night and NO-ONE else was in sight. I'm just cruising @ 75 when I see some lights zooming up, so I drop to 72. this dude passes me doing a good 90mph.well, no cop ,so back to 75....he slows down so I have to pass him, after I get a little ways ahead, he guns it and goes by (his car was pretty loud with big rims- not 26" ghetto rims, but not just 20's) I just rolled my eyes and was gonna move over when he slows again. he drops back and sits about 1 car behind me in the next lane moving up and back alittle (I thought he was reading my tag, or the chrome and red SRT8 badge). then, again, he comes up and when next to me, romps on it. he pulls a few cars up ,drops back does it again, etc, etc. finally he sits right next to me and just gives short throttle blips. I shake my head at him (no I haven't tinted my windows yet) he kept it up so I looked over @ him, shook my head again, killed the cruise, and dropped to 5th, looked over, shook my head , hit 4th....gave him a sec or 2 and stomped on it.....
Well, I heard his exhaust for maybe a sec or two, then he was getting small in my mirror VERY quickly.... I didn't even top out 4th gear! I put her back in 6th and resumed the cruise. he stayed a good ways back .....right up until his exit, he had to zoom past and cut over to it

Kids these days
