Re: I hate to say it but I'm looking at the f150 ecoboost

i had an explorer and it was junk everything in the world went wrong with that thing. my step-father has owned f150s forever now, he loves them but i think just everything about them sucks. his interiors would always fall apart and every one he had he had in bring in for some major issue. i dont like them. get a dodge or chevy.

Re: I hate to say it but I'm looking at the f150 ecoboost

My Fords have been WORLDS better than our GM vehicles. Had a '95 Explorer Sport, 230k miles and had no issues at all. Could have used a transmission rebuild in the next 70k miles, but A/C worked great, no rattles, nothing.

My father has had 3 Explorer Sport Tracs, combined 200k+ miles amongst the 3 so far. No issues with any of them either.

My Saturn on the other hand, utter POS, despite being nearly identical to the Equinox (which somehow managed to be an even cheaper POS). The only good thing about that vehicle was the powertrain - which GM had to get from Honda to have a powertrain that didn't suck. That and the plastic body, despite having massive gaps everywhere, it was very functional.

Re: I hate to say it but I'm looking at the f150 ecoboost

I was never a Ford fan until I researched the Eco and test drove it, I couldn't be happier with it. I am in construction so the 6.5'' bed extended cab and tow 11,300 without a problem, I was originally going for a Ram but with it's out dated interior (pre 13) and no extended cab with a 6.5'' bed made me walk away.

Bad cell pic.

The Ford is nice however the new RAM interior is REALLY nice & they ride much better than the Ford if you can believe it. Do yourself a favor and at least compare.

Also, the RAM has way better colors available & a better warranty.

I am replacing my f150 with a wj...any vehicle that routinely spits spark plugs out of the heads is a poorly designed piece of junk. My f150 was a 2000 and was comfortable but that's all I can say about it. The new (2011 and up) are the nicest looking trucks on the market imo...

Think Outside !- No Box Required.

Re: I hate to say it but I'm looking at the f150 ecoboost

I considered a Ford Ecoboost when I purchased my Ram. However, I didn't even drive one. I don't like the front end looks of the Ford. There are too many of them. I wouldn't have been able to get all the options I wanted at a decent price. My Ram is a few threads below. I'm not disappointed. For the record, I've owned more Fords than Chrycos. I know the Ecoboosts haul nicely, but so does the Hemi with 3.92s. The CC barely fits in my garage.

Compare the eco against the new Ram with the Pentastar. It won't tow as much but gets better mileage

Towing is the main reason I'm even looking at the ecoboost. Otherwise I'll just do a diesel. Mileage is just a bonus.

Then its a no brainer. You won't go wrong with the Ford truck. My last one was an Expedition and it was a very capable vehicle.

I used to have a truck, years ago. The times I actually needed to put something in the bed were far less than the times I wished I had more space inside, that could be locked and was out of the weather. Are your needs just towing or do you really need a truck? If its just towing I'd look at the '14 CRD.

My sources tell me the RAM 1500 will let you order the biggest cab and short bed in most models coming later this year.

I need a truck. As far as storing stuff out of the weather I have my WJ for that.
