Mercury Cougar 1973

Im looking for a classic car and found a Mercury Cougar 1973 convertible. Any one of you had good or bad experiences with this car? Anything special to look for?

351?

I had a 75. Every seal leaked like a sieve.

But tops are cheap.

only part I remember having trouble with was a rag joint. But this was BEFORE the internet.

Also, the 70's cars are notorious for rust. be sure to check the frame and underneath good.

Just chipping in to make sure you get the full work up of the car before you buy it. Although I'm sure you already know how to check out that the parts and stuff are all working right. Wouldn't hurt to check out what insurance might look like for the model. Sometimes a higher than usual premium might mean inherent issues.

Re: Mercury Cougar 1973

Eventhough I did like the car, I went with something more classic: a 1958 Ford Thunderbird.
