for 60k I would go to Mercedes in a heart beat! no contest.

Out of those 3... X5 wins hands down.

It's the least feminine of the lot, and that engine.... Hmmmm is good!

Torn between the X5 and the Q5 but I would lean more towards the X5

Re: Which SUV to pick?

to be honest no pun intended your friend needs to buy a used car and not a brand new especially one of those types, their value drops like a hot potato ... but to each is own

But in all 3 I would say X5 hands down ...

Re: Which SUV to pick?

OMG! Is he not even thinking about the FX50s from Infiniti? Blow the doors off all the others in every single possible category you can think of except for price. AND its by far the sexiest of all of them imo. You will not find a better bang for the buck luxury crossover then the FX.

In 2007 i bought a 2007 FX35 and compared it to the BMW, Lex and Audi like your friend is looking at. Nothing came close. In 2010 I went in to trade it for a 2010 FX50s and feel in love! Then outta nowhere a smoking hot deal on a Z06 came my way that I could not pass up so I sold the FX, bought the vette and WJ for winter. If I had do it again, I probably would of got the FX50s since its a great balance of muscle car and sports utility. Such a sexy ride imo.

The ammenities inside, the others wish they had. Cooled and heated seats. 360 degree camera, DVD and intelligent key. You gotta pay out your ying yang for these types of options on the german counter parts.

And I found the Nissan 3.5L in my 07 to be great on gas and provided more power and performance than the 4.4 V8 in the BMW and it even handled better.

Infiniti FX50s for the win. I've sold 4 of these SUVs this year to people who asked for my opinion in similar situations as your buddy. The car speaks for itself, tell him to go have a look. Its a thing of beauty and must be appreciated in person. If i had an employee code with Nissan I might have been able to get commissions too! lol

Wow FX50 would be a win, actually any FX sounds good to me. (My neighbor has a FX35) and loves to rev it around. Too bad he's lame. LOL..

haha! the first one is actually for sale if not sold already. Check out infinitifx.org to see if its still available. I love the Gen 1 FX exhaust, the Gen 2 is detuned a little but a plenum spacer kit and a stillen intake will open it right up!

If Im not mistaken the second one is also a .org member from Russia.

Thanks for the insight. I LOVE the Gen 1 FX and recommended to him but he shot that down. I'll tell him to reconsider and try taking one for a drive.

AND HOT DAM to the vids posted above. SICK!
