Re: Which SUV to pick?

X5

FX50

Honestly, BMW has nothing, absolutely nothing going on when you compare the two. Not for the same price point, not even close. Not looks, not style, not performance, nothing. Pics dont lie. Cost of ownership less in the FX also and value retention is at par. Such a beautiful ride the FX is.

Plus, the BMW looks like every other car they make. Same as 1, 3, 5 series look. At least the FX is bold and unique just plain sexy.

yep, i know. LOL.

He bought the 2011 BMW X5 x35i Premium, white with the beige interior. its beautiful, outside and in. He'll be picking it up THurs so ill get some pics up. Already starting talking about modding all the lights to Leds and possibly tinting the tails. Should be lots of fun

Dealer at Smithtown, LI. Very cool people there. Was a 2010 Jeep Srt8 on the lot (silver,10k miles for 43k)and they let me test drive it. Guy cut my testdrive short tho, prolly cause i was flooring it every 4 secs lolol. look in the rearview and he looked like he was holding on to the seats for dear life lololol.

BTW: wated to testdrive the x5m/x6m but none on the lot. asked the saleman where they were hiding it and they said they dont have one cause they dont expect to sell too many of those lol. DANG. I didnt know but the X6 is a 4 seater. *WTF!* trunk space is a joke too

Re: Which SUV to pick?

I havent driven a bmw suv, but I am quite disapointed with their horsepower output. I respect if you have the 60+k to drop on a vehicle for mom to drive to the grocery store then you dont need it to be a rocket ship, but its a bmw for goodness sakes. Why JEEP has the quickest (or at least for a number of years) suv to 60mph by quite a bit is beyond me. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the srt8 grand but its a freaking "general purpose" vehicle and bmw, mercedes, porshe, audi are known for performance and styling whom have performance devisions with handbuilt all aluminum variable cam timing, cam in head, modern engines. And jeep held the title with a freakin pushrod engine???

Anyway, Im glad he is happy, there is obviously ALOT more to a vehicle than how quick it gets to 60mph.

Re: Which SUV to pick?

yup speed and power isnt for everyone. When we first started talking I was dropping all these vehicles recommendations of which one can get the 0-60, 0-100 the quickest for 60k (Jeep Srt8 ) i think the CTS-V starts at 63k. But he's into the luxury, fit and finish. It's a beautiful car, I'll be lying if i wasnt feeling a little bit jealous
