I normally keep them for two years. I'm a fan of technology and take my bike to the track twice a month.

I put between 18,000 to 25,000 KM per year (7-month riding season in Quebec) on my bikes. Depends on my workload on a particular season.

I know it's not much but, on a track weekend the bike get towed to the track and racks up less KMs than it would on a normal weekend on the road. I'm saving up to take a year off to ride 300 days but I my work is just as much fun that I'm not sure I'll be able to stay away for that long.

Yep, I feel the same. Of the 8 Ducatis I've had, only one had an open clutch cover and I hated it. So glad that all this crap is over. My 1199 sounds like heavenly thunder.

This being said, I'm looking at another brand for the first time since 2002. We'll see what happens.

Oh ok. Pheww...I thought you was one of "those" types. Lol.

I think the Aprilia RSV4 factory might be my next bike. I have to look into maintenance since I do most of the work on my own and I usually keep a bike for about 5 years or so before switching.

Re: Who else rides 2 wheels?

I'm between bikes at the moment...
I just came off a 2001 Aprilia RSV Mille R - looked identical to this with the dual sided exhaust and such:

Same here... I bought a 2012 GL1800 (traded a 2004 GL1800) two years ago as a "retirement bike" so my wife and I could do some trips (like we used to do, back when I had some spare time), but have mostly ridden it to work and back. This year will be better.
