It's somewhat based on the new WL Grand Cherokee. The front looks sorta like the current Grand Cherokee, but with a vertical grille. Overall more "boxy" - side windows are square, vertical rear window. Different trim levels, "Wagoneer" and "Grand Wagoneer". It will be built at the Warren Truck plant.

So it's the next generational version of XK?

That would probably be a fair analogy.

That has been the understanding for some time now when milous first gave out early details.

Grand will be top of the line, with a base Wagoneer....at least that is what is rumored

Re: 2019 Grand Wagoneer

The target market is the upper end version of Tahoe | Yukon | Suburban along with the Escalade, where pricing should start probably in the 60K's for base model and hit 6 figures for completely loaded model. This is just a guess based on all the collaborative information we are seeing on the web and with people internal at FCA.

Hard to imagine it'll be at the same price point as the Escalade when it's recently been re-confirmed it'll be based on a stretched Grand Cherokee platform like the Durango. The Durango is quite a bit smaller than the Escalade / Denali.

Glad it's not being built at Jefferson North so they don't have to kill the Durango to make room for it as was the consensus on here not too long ago.

Its being built to compete with the Range Rover, so I think it being in the range of an Escalade is certainly a possibility.

Re: 2019 Grand Wagoneer

New story out today which further mentions the Escalade (among other lux brands) that it will be geared towards. The price will be steep for a fully loaded Grand.

That's my understanding as well.

Not looking to go toe to toe with a school bus sized SUV like a Tahoe or a Suburban, and looking to shoot for higher end (Land Rover/Q7 territory).

In which case, hitting the upper 90's to low 100's shouldn't be out of character.

I am curious what the powertrain and engine will be.

I love my Durango, I just wish I could wrestle the 4x4 system and diesel from my SFU Overland into it... or stretch out my SFU to be three rows like my Durango.

The SFU is a crazy highway cruiser and top notch in the hills, but is missing the third row my Durango has. The Durango is freaking awesome, but screams for a diesel like the SFU has in it for highway family cruising.

Re: 2019 Grand Wagoneer

So it seems the GW will be the same or similar size as the Durango? Really thats still kinda small. Just more cargo room and or possible 7 person seating.

I was expecting Tahoe or Danali size SUV...
