0/60 Run AT Race WT ON 89 Octane.

Well with 1400 miles on the jeep i did my 1st section of 0/60 runs on 89 gas. I was also at race wt and this is the first launch from idle and was really surprised of the lag it has at wot. I tried auto and sports mode with t/c on and off. It felt like a turbo lag and it rolled about 8 ft then came alive and ran a 6.72 and thats a 9.70 1/8 mile and a 15.18 1/4 mile. Well we will see when we go racing as ill be running 98 octane and see just how accurate the racing calculator is. Boy do i miss my srt8 lol. The trailhawks are 479 lbs heavier that a fully loaded limited 2 whd model with the 3.2 V6.

<I was also at race wt...>

What does this mean? Race weight? And if so, how do you do that? Just interested.

When my jeep trailhawk came from the factory it weighed 4250 lbs + my wt it came in at 4495 lbs. Now to get to race wt nhra allows you to take out just a few things. I always have 1/4 tank of gas and always take out all my stuff i carry plus all floor mats, rear pull tarp, spare tire and jack and grandsons baby seat and that gets my race wt down to 4380 lbs. My srt8 race wt was 5492 lbs.

Re: 0/60 Run AT Race WT ON 89 Octane.

Today i was on freeway and there was a big down hill part so i got it going to 80 mph and moved the gear lever to the left and there it was in 9th gear lol. I MOVED IT BACK TO THE RIGHT AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 75 AND MOVED THE LEVER BACK TO LEFT AND IT WAS SHOWING 8TH GEAR AGAIN. Well at least i no theres a 9th gear.

Re: 0/60 Run AT Race WT ON 89 Octane.

Going to T&T at our local 1/8 mile track with our group of srt8 in october. I will have the cherokee down to race wt and will be using some of my 98 octane gas mix i had left over from my 2012 srt8. Hope the 98 octane along with the higher oxygen of 4.0% will add some hp. It seams the added mileage has made the little engine pick up some performance. Ill report with the final times.

I believe that lag is part of the AL process.
I had it during AL and it could be rather severe at times, especially when pulling out into traffic. That part was gone after several hundred miles.
It was a definite lag on gears 1/2 on starting up.
Like it was deciding which gear to use next.

It was pretty much was gone when AL finished. I still got it a bit but much less subdued. Still annoying. Mostly noticeable on a hard start up and acceleration, like pulling out in a hurry.
At 5500 miles its almost gone. Barley noticeable now.
It is a pain and the worst part of AL for me.
