Ok bet on! I found that the plastic cage that is attached to the headliner is where the problem is. That is what is creaking when I push up on it. Also the stupid velcro contributes to this bad design.
I won't take your last dollar though!
Don't get mixed up between the Grand Cherokee sunroof issues and the Cherokee. Two different things. My dealer admitted that the Cherokee has headliner issues with all of the full sunroof models. The headliner tends to loosen. Problem is that they don't know or don't want to fix it, hence me looking for a DIY fix. I'm still in warranty so I'll keep on pushing them, but I've had so many problems with this thing I've learned to do one problem at a time with a dealer - they just can't digest more than this per visit.
I've had an oil pressure sensor replaced (first 2 weeks), GPS/radio replaced (GPS went out), A/C controls replaced, New Trans just 2 weeks ago, New axles, new headlight (that went out 2 days ago...), sunroof re-lubed due to it not opening easily, tons of software updates, a rear passenger door replaced (crazy - was not properly aligned), and I'm sure I'm forgetting at least 2-3 more issues.
So this headliner issue is real and I'll keep pushing them...maybe I should focus on the lemon law? haha.
